Title: My United Way Voice 2019 Submission by Rachel Gleddie
Description: View the Original Submission I wrote this song from the only perspective that I felt that I had a right to: my own. I was lucky enough to be raised in circumstances that wouldn't come even close to being called impoverished. Growing up, it took me awhile to realize that poverty is not something that only exists in third world countries... it's everywhere, including Alberta. Since then, I have done a decent amount of volunteer work combating poverty both locally and internationally, but I feel like I could be doing/giving a lot more with everything I myself have been given. This song is essentially an encouragement to anyone who considers themselves privileged (including myself) to do better with the resources and time that we have been blessed with.
